Online Communities, Institutional Strategy and Advancement:
What the Future Holds
This workshop for practitioners, consultants and researchers will build upon findings presented in the earlier main conference session “The Future of Community and Affinity in an Online World.” The goals for this workshop are to:
- move beyond theorizing and survey results and into development of infrastructure for practice;
- bring users and developers together in a collaborative discussion-and-exchange format;
- discuss and develop draft measurements for performance and success with the new online communities;
- develop a plan for dissemination and acceptance of such measures across the industry, for the benefit of all; and
- launch an ongoing community of professional practice around this topic.
So come roll your sleeves up and be part of developing the promising future of online advancement!
Speakers: Dan Guhr, Managing Director, Illuminate Consulting Group and Chris Thompson, Vice President for Research and Information Services, Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE)
