Judges all agreed that Michigan State's submission displayed a beautiful series of images, with carefully crafted and strongly balanced compositions. Similarly, the environmental portraits exceptionally showcase both personality and context for the subjects. The common thread of the green chair doesn't overwhelm the frame, but quietly serves as an anchor. The color is vibrant, and the lighting techniques are effective and dramatic.
