The Oakland University Young Alumni Council sponsored the inaugural OU Alumni Weekend at Mackinac Island September 15-17, 2017. The weekend provided a picturesque backdrop for a relaxing vacation and gathering place for all OU alumni. Mackinac Island is located between the upper and lower peninsulas of Michigan and is approximately eight miles around. The Island is known for biking, horse-drawn carriages, and fudge.

Thought this was a great initiative for the young alumni network to engage alumni through experiences. Cost negotiation was excellent, as it made the weekend affordable for those who wish to participate.
