Pa’lante Pacífico is an innovative and highly successful fundraising program focused on providing educational opportunities for deserving students in one of Colombia’s most disadvantaged regions -the Pacific Littoral region.
Aside from its massive public outreach, one of the most important features of the program is that all students benefitted by scholarships commit to donating 10% of their future income to fund future scholarships provided under this program, once they are gainfully employed.
Aside from its unique operating model, what makes P’adelante Pacífico such a winning program is its communication and community involvement platform. With support from media companies, retailers, banks, telcos and payment systems as well as celebrity endorsements, P’alante Pacifico is fundraising at its best on a scale rarely experienced among educational programs. With over 700, 000 donors from individuals and companies, the program raised over US$2.5 million dollars and changed 160 talented young lives for good.
