On March 19, 2018, a powerful EF-3 tornado tore through the campus of Jacksonville State University in northeast Alabama, damaging almost two-thirds of its buildings and derailing its spring semester. The university's two-person public relations and social media team led the university’s communication efforts throughout the response and recovery of the multifaceted crisis. This award application asks the judging committee to evaluate the team’s communication response during historic event.
