Women of Color Conference: Persistence, Possibilities, and the Power of Our Voices
From the Nominator
From start to finish, the strategic planning process, program planning and final implementation of the Smith College Women of Color Conference: Persistence, Possibilities, and the Power of Our Voices was a collaborative effort between Smith College’s alumnae board, volunteers, campus constituencies (including students), college leadership, and Alumnae Relations professional staff. As a result of this broadly inclusive planning process, the event created opportunities for innovative outreach and exciting logistical components. The end result was an extraordinarily successful, energizing, inspiring, sold-out event that engaged a significant number of remarkable alumnae who left feeling more closely connected to the college than they had since graduating.
From the Judges
Solid program that is inclusive of women from various ethnicities and generations to discuss issues that impact women. Great how Smith College had campus partners as well as partnerships with local institutions to host this conference of empowerment.
