Photography: Portraits
Entries should be a collection of three to seven photographs (color and/or black and white) that showcase individuals or groups in formal or informal settings. The photos must have been used for some institutional purpose, such as in a print publication, on a website, in an advertisement, or in campus displays. The photos may have been taken by anyone affiliated with the institution, including students, staff, and freelance photographers. The photos do not have to all have been taken by the same photographer.
In addition to submitting the individual photographs, also show how they were used (such as in a publication or on a website).
For example:
Athlete/team portraits
Alumni portraits for a magazine article
Student portraits for the website
Faculty portraits for a recruiting publication
Do not enter:
Photo illustrations or mixed media. Enter those in the Design: Illustrations category
Judges will score nominations from 1 (lowest) to 10 (highest) in these five areas:
Ability to tell/contribute to the story or subject
Composition
Creativity
Effectiveness of use
Technical quality
Judges also may consider:
Quality and clarity of nomination and supporting materials
Special circumstances/overcoming adversity
