Best Foundation Friends: CFR/DO Teamwork to Raise Big Family Foundation Gifts
A foundation relations officer and major gift fundraiser will join with a philanthropic family foundation to share how they work collaboratively to engage and solicit the foundation. Through close partnership, thoughtful strategic planning, constant communication, coordinated and robust stewardship, and clear delegation of tasks and responsibilities, the presenters have secured multiple multi-million dollar gifts from a local family foundation. The session will walk through the solicitation process, from donor approach to PI engagement, grant portal submission to paperwork execution, through reporting and stewardship. The funder will share their perspective on why this approach works, and the fundraisers will share strategies that can be replicable at other institutions.
