We created a visualization to better understand our donor behaviors. Previously, donor trends were analyzed in a two-dimensional way. They were tracked year after year basis in buckets by giving levels. However, it was unclear if a unique donor was increasing, decreasing, or remaining in the same giving level. Using the Sankey diagram provides a visual of the donor flow and creates a more strategic approach to viewing their behavior. Also, provides opportunity for more personalized strategies. For example, creating targeted messaging to donors that are giving less and on the other hand encouraging donors that are increasing their donations.
