Elly Fishman, the author of Refugee High, reveals the extraordinary in the seemingly ordinary. Over the last 15 years, as an editor, reporter and author Fishman has turned to a diverse range of people, across geographies, class, culture and generations to create portraits of the social world around us that are often hidden in plain sight. In this conversation, Fishman will discuss discovering and writing stories of the people around us, of unexpected places and how stories seldom told can help us understand where and who we are.
