Not Just Any Campaign Launch: Sharing Your Institution's Authentic Story
Some people believe that if you've been to one campaign launch, you've been to them all. But at Oregon State University, we found a way to make the launch of Believe It: The Campaign for Oregon State University as authentic as campaign launches come - thanks to the stories shared by our students, faculty, volunteers and donors. Using OSU's launch in 2022 as an example, this session will teach participants to hone in on their institution's messages to center authentic storytelling at their highest priority events, including campaign launches. In addition to a brief presentation, this session will include time for participants to craft three messaging points about their institution and begin to map those to real-life stories that could be showcased at their events. We will also include a brief discussion about how to coach speakers to maintain their authentic voice and captivate an audience without losing the message - and call to action - that needs to be conveyed.
