Government-approved and socially accepted exclusionary practices have invaded every aspect of culture around the globe. For the advancement profession, we must see how these practices have a residual impact on our work and perpetuate these limiting behaviors.

Advancement shops desire to create work environments where employees can bring their whole selves to the workplace. Identity-centered employees are expressing the need for proof from employers that bringing their entire selves to the workplace will not result in limited upward mobility or systemic discriminatory practices being ignored.
