Gavin is responsible for a global programme of alumni engagement activities, working closely with alumni, the Watt Club Council and other key stakeholders. He has developed innovative ideas for engagement and increased alumni participation both in person and online. Central to this activity has been an increased presence of volunteer groups, Watt Club branches, across the globe. He has also developed the presence and redefined the voice of the alumni office on social media and through their online alumni platform.

With over 11 years working in Alumni and Development teams in higher and further education, Gavin Rennie is currently the Alumni Engagement Officer at Heriot-Watt University. During this time he has launched two separate alumni platforms, delivered countless alumni magazines, worked closely with volunteers to establish alumni chapters, managed social media channels, brought in philanthropic income and delivered events across the world.
