Industry Advisory Council

CASE invites a cross section of CASE Educational Partner firms to serve on the Industry Advisory Council. Its mission is to provide CASE with executive counsel on opportunities to better serve its corporate partners and expand its relationship with Educational Partner members.

Meet the Council

IAC Mission

The CASE Industry Advisory Council provides executive counsel and advice on opportunities for CASE to better serve its corporate affiliates and expand its relationship with Educational Partners within the advancement industry. Additionally, the IAC plays an instrumental role in identifying industry trends and positioning CASE to meet the future challenges of its partners and organizations. IAC goals specifically include:

  • Providing advice and counsel on broad industry trends and their implications
  • Providing advice and counsel on matters related to gift reporting, data collection and reporting, various communities of practice, etc.
  • Providing advice and counsel on CASE's relationship and opportunities with consultants and corporate partners
  • Providing advice and counsel on research opportunities within advancement theory and practice

Member selection criteria

  • Current Educational Partner in good standing
  • History with CASE
  • Disciplinary focus
  • Product/service distribution

Service policies

  • IAC members will serve at the request of the CASE president.
  • There will be one representative per organization, normally limited to the founding partner, chair or CEO.
  • The term of service will be three years.
  • The CASE Board of Trustees Chair appoints the IAC chair/board liaison. Members of the IAC can volunteer or be nominated by other members of the IAC to serve as the IAC chair/board liaison. A slate of nominees is forwarded to the chair of the CASE Board of Trustees, who makes the selection.
  • The CASE Vice President, Strategic Development and Senior Director, Corporate Relations will staff the IAC.

IAC commitment

The Industry Advisory Council will meet semi-annually in the winter and in July. The December meeting winter meeting will be held in Washington, D.C. IAC recommendations will be reported to the CASE Board of Trustees at its next meeting to provide timely guidance to senior-level CASE management and volunteers. IAC members will be expected to cover travel and lodging expenses. 

Attendance policy

At the suggestion of the IAC, the following attendance policy was adopted effective Aug. 1, 2006.

It is expected that Industry Advisory Council members will attend all meetings. If a member is unable to do so, he or she should notify CASE staff in advance. Any IAC member who misses two meetings without mitigating circumstances shall be considered to have resigned.
