Bio

James Elverson is currently the CASE Graduate at Cancer Research UK. He graduated from the University of Nottingham with a degree in Chemistry.  James grew up in a working-class household; attending university was not a given if it were not for the support of his family and the Sutton trust he is unsure if he would have attended university at all. That is why James is passionate about institutions like CASE; advancing education to transform lives and making education more accessible to students regardless of class, race or ability.

James’ biggest achievement was being a chemistry mentor to year 12 students while he was in year 13, it was the first time James felt like he made a difference to someone’s life and this has encouraged him to continue wanting to help people.

James graduated in July 2018, so over the summer he has mainly been working in retail, with some activism in his spare time. James also spent a long weekend attending the festival 2000 Trees in Cheltenham.
