Julie Burtch is the director of foundation relations at Wayne State University, where she creates meaningful and lasting connections between university projects and foundation donors. She works with faculty, deans and leadership to design proposals, cultivate and solicit foundations, and steward grants. With a staff of three, her department also provides workshops and presentations on topics including prospecting, writing for foundations, ethical fundraising, grants management and communication. 

Burtch is a proud alumna of Wayne State University’s Masters in Public Administration Program and James Madison College at Michigan State University. For eight years, she has reviewed grants for the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs and sits on the New Leaders Arts Council. She is the treasurer of Declare Detroit.
