Kate Emmick is the director of donor relations for the Smeal College of Business at Penn State. In this role, she is responsible for the overall stewardship strategy for the college, including donor events, endowment management and reporting, gift acknowledgments, donor recognition, and development communications. Prior to her role in Smeal, Kate was the associate director of stewardship for the College of Education at Penn State, where she worked for five years to build a comprehensive stewardship program. During her time in the College of Education, Kate worked alongside other colleagues to help develop a University-wide stewardship plan. Her career in fundraising and development began at Conservation International (CI) in Washington, DC where she worked for nine years in a variety of development roles. Her areas of expertise include stewardship strategy and best practices, event planning, strategic donor communications, volunteer management, and annual giving.
