Bio

Laurie Brogdon garnered a distinguished record of achievement in higher education alumni relations and advancement at Virginia Tech, Cornell, and the University of Maryland. In these role, she was responsible for leading aspects of communications, alumni relations, and annual giving and develops programs and events, expands regional chapters and affinity groups, stewards donors and volunteers, and implements transformative advancement operations. During her 15-year career in Advancement, Brogdon raised more than 25 million dollars.

In addition, she is the visionary creator of the Virginia Tech Influential Black Alumni Awards and serves as the inaugural president for the Virginia Tech Black Alumni Society. Her work was recognized by industry leaders with the Award of Excellence from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). She has served on state and national committees for higher education and in university governance on local college campuses.
