Mellissa Abdu has been working in Advancement for over six years, beginning her career in the sector as a student caller at Newcastle University. After graduation, Mellissa became Advancement Intern at Newcastle University and later Advancement Assistant. Since 2017, Mellissa has been developing the volunteering programme at Durham University and has recently been appointed as Durham's first Alumni and Supporter Engagement Manager specialising in volunteers and networks. Mellissa is passionate about the impact alumni and supporters can make through volunteering when aligned with the strategic goals of the institution and is constantly inspired and motivated by the continued generosity and passion from the Durham community.
