Bio

My name is Amy-Leigh Hatton, I’m a University of Bristol graduate and I studied Politics and Sociology. I’ve worked for the Telethon at University of Bristol since my first year, moving up to the role as supervisor in my final year, and so I have a fair understanding of fundraising within higher education. My host university is University of Bristol which I’m very excited about as I feel really connected to this university and the work they are doing. During University I took on the role of President of Student Action for Refugees, and a large aspect of that role involved campaigning around equal access to education for refugees and asylum seekers - widening participation being a cause I feel strongly about. I collaboratively worked to fundraiser for, and raise awareness of, our university’s Sanctuary Scholarship programme, and I look forward to continuing to work on this project. Over summer I have worked as a Programme Leader for National Citizen Service, a programme for young people which focuses on personal development and community engagement. One achievement for me is being recognised in The Tab Future 100 for my contribution to charity sector work.
