The CASE Board of Trustees has approved the association's first Global Policy Framework. The framework will serve as a guide to how CASE can best support our members on policy issues wherever they are in the world.

The Global Policy Framework was developed in consultation with CASE's volunteer leadership and staff in Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America and North America. It outlines seven broad policy areas of concern to CASE and all CASE members across the globe. As advocates for the advancement profession, our policy areas include charitable giving, global movement, institutional autonomy, the cost of education and data privacy and protection.

The framework is not designed to be a legislative agenda or a specific list of issues where CASE will take a position or action in a particular timeframe. It does, however, provide CASE with the flexibility and foresight needed to effectively monitor and proactively respond to policy developments. The framework also provides a foundation for CASE to:

1. develop country or region-specific legislative and regulatory agendas in the future, and
2. determine whether the CASE should take a position on an issue as unexpected policy opportunities or challenges arise around the globe.

Over the next several months, CASE will be working with members to build out a plan to support the implementation of the framework. CASE volunteers, members and staff will also be identifying specific issues where CASE can be proactive.
