An Update on CASE’S COVID-19 Response from Sue Cunningham, CASE President & CEO
CASE is proud of its work and its commitment to serving people who are engaged every day in advancing education to transform lives and society. Over the course of these challenging months, we have worked to ensure we are conscientious stewards of our members’ and Educational Partners’ investments in CASE. We have reduced expenses, converted programming from in-person to virtual, and applied thoughtful approaches to our financial management to ensure that we are able to live our vision, mission, and values.
Like many of our members and our colleague associations in the charitable sector, we have experienced reduced revenues resulting from the impact that COVID-19 has had on the education sector worldwide. We are grateful to the many institutions that have continued as CASE members and continue to take advantage of our wide set of services.
Unfortunately, we have come to the difficult and sad decision that in order to secure CASE’s long-term fiscal health, we need to reduce our staff size. We have come to this necessary decision to align our budget within the new financial context, and to ensure a solid foundation for CASE’s future in support of our members worldwide.
Over the past nine months, CASE, like our member institutions, has been agile in our response to the pandemic, the changing environment for education, and the way we deliver value and service. We have reached more than 5,000 members with our CASE ToGathers, served more than 2,500 through our conferences and events, published new surveys and books, and enhanced our analytics and benchmarking services.
2020 has challenged all of us in extraordinary ways. The importance of advancement cannot be overstated – the service CASE provides to enable our members to advance their institutions in difficult and in good times has been a hallmark of the association for nearly 50 years and will be for the next 50.
We thank you for your support and immense commitment to advancing education to transform lives and society.
Sue Cunningham
