With 60 years of data, the VSE survey has been the premier source of information on philanthropic giving to education in the United States. The 2018 VSE Survey is now open for data collection.

CASE acquired the VSE survey and launched AMAtlas, a global resource for educational advancement-related metrics, benchmarks and analytics, in July 2018.

Results of the VSE provide benchmarking and fact-based evidence of programmatic trends that can be shared with board members, senior institutional staff, volunteers and other audiences. This evidence can then be used to support further investments in advancement staff and other resources.

Approximately 1,000 educational institutions in the United States participate annually in the VSE. A short version is available for institutions reporting for the first time or for any institution that would like to complete it.

The deadline for submitting data is Oct. 1, 2018, for higher education institutions and Nov. 1, 2018, for precollege institutions. There is no fee to participate in the survey.
