Samantha is the Senior Director of Alumni Experiences, acting as a liaison to those who do engagement work within Ohio State’s many colleges/units and also leading the Advancement Events team, who serves as a central resource for event best practices and standards.

Sam got her start in the event industry as the Event Manager at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater, shortly after completing a Master’s degree program at the University of Chicago in a completely unrelated discipline: English Literature! When she moved to Columbus in 2003 to join her extended family, she joined the for-profit world as part of the Marriott family. In 2007 she returned to non-profit via an events position with Columbus’ Center of Science and Industry, until she joined at Ohio State in 2013.

Her time at Ohio State over the past 7 years has been an invigorating journey, from National Championship runs to the close and opening of two fundraising campaigns. She feels privileged to be in a role that allows her to bring Ohio State to its alumni and constituents, building a community of lifelong champions for Ohio State.
