The CASE Graduate Trainee Program, US/Canada is a unique opportunity to develop a range of skills and experience while performing a yearlong residency at a host institution. In addition, Graduate Trainees benefit from access to professional development at CASE’s Summer Institute, a designated CASE district conference, webinars, facilitated conversations and mentoring. Throughout the residency, Graduate Trainees build an invaluable, supportive network of peers and mentors. 

Our Graduate Trainees work within assigned area(s) of an advancement office at an educational institution, gaining experience and developing skills in prospect management, annual giving, stewardship, fundraising campaigns, major gifts, events and partnerships. The breadth of the experience provides Graduate Trainees with a well-rounded view of fundraising within education and the role it plays in supporting institutions. 

Graduate Trainees receive:

• Employment by a host university on a 50‐week contract. Graduate Trainees receive salary and benefits determined by their host institution in conjunction with the institution’s entry-level pay and grading structure
• Professional development from CASE including CASE’s flagship conference on educational fundraising (SIEFR) and one designated CASE district conference. Participation in online professional development, including CASE online courses, webinars and career seminars
• A cohort experience, in which Graduate Trainees will network and peer share throughout the year with fellow Graduate Trainees in Asia Pacific, UK and US/Canada 
• A mentor, along with networking opportunities via CASE e-Mentoring and access to CASE professional communities
• Connection to a designated talent management/career coach
• Yearlong membership to CASE

• Applicants must have a baccalaureate degree and must have a keen interest in entering the education fundraising profession. The trainee can either be new to the institution’s advancement office or a current employee of the institution interested in transitioning into a fundraising role.  All CASE Graduate Trainees US/Canada must be able to work in the United States or Canada without sponsorship.
