2022-2023 Election of CASE Trustees and Other Senior Leaders
The CASE membership recently elected the following volunteer leaders to fill open positions on the CASE Board of Trustees, Regional Councils, and District Cabinets. New trustees will begin their terms on 17 July 2022. New Council and Cabinet members will begin their terms on 1 July 2022.

OFFICERS
SERGIO GONZALEZ
Senior Vice President for University Advancement, Brown University
Chair (2-year term)
Sergio Gonzalez is the senior vice president for university advancement at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. Prior to his appointment at Brown, Gonzalez was the senior vice president for university advancement and external affairs at the University of Miami. He has also served as chief of staff for the Miami-Dade County executive mayor and served as the executive director of the South Florida 1999 Super Bowl Host Committee. He received a J.D. from Columbia University and a B.S. from Georgetown University. Gonzalez is a former member of the CASE Commission on Philanthropy, the Strategic Plan Steering Committee, and the Global Governance Steering Committee. He also was the inaugural chair of the CASE Council for US and Canada. Gonzalez has served on the CASE Board of Trustees since 2011, holding positions as treasurer and at-large trustee, and is the current Chair-elect.
FRITZ SCHROEDER
Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations, Johns Hopkins University
Chair-elect (2-year term)
Fritz Schroeder is the vice president for development and alumni relations at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. Schroeder has served in numerous capacities at Johns Hopkins including Senior Associate Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations, Executive Director of Development and Alumni Relations, Executive Director of the Alumni Association, and Director of Annual Giving. Previously he served in numerous advancement roles at the University of Maryland at College Park, his alma mater, where he received a M.B.A. He is the author of the CASE book Annual Giving: A Practical Approach and was a former member of the CASE Commission on Philanthropy and chair of CASE’s Curriculum Task Force. He was the chair of the CASE Summer Institute for Educational Fundraising and in 2002 he received the CASE Crystal Apple Award for Teaching Excellence. Schroeder has served on the CASE Board of Trustees since 2016 and currently is the Board Secretary.
RACHEL SANDISON
Deputy Vice-Chancellor, External Engagement and Vice-Principal, External Relations, University of Glasgow
Treasurer (2-year term)
Rachel Sandison is the deputy vice-chancellor, external engagement and vice-principal, external relations at the University of Glasgow in Scotland. Sandison has held numerous senior leadership positions at the university including executive director, external relations and director marketing, recruitment, and international. Prior to arriving at Glasgow, she was the director of marketing, student recruitment, and alumni relations at the University of Aberdeen. She is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Co-Chair of the Universities UK International Network, and serves as a member of the Universities Marketing Forum and the Universities Scotland International Committee amongst other sector advisory bodies. She received an Executive M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a M.A. from the University of Aberdeen. Sandison serves as chair of CASE’s Marketing Institute and in 2019 she received the CASE Crystal Apple Award for Teaching Excellence. She is a member of the CASE Council for Europe and a former member of the CASE Commission on Communications and Marketing. Sandison currently serves on the CASE Board of Trustees as an at-large member.
MATTHEW T. LAMBERT
Vice President for University Advancement, William & Mary
CEO, William & Mary Foundation
Secretary (2-year term)
Matthew Lambert is the vice president for university advancement at William & Mary and the CEO of the W&M Foundation in Williamsburg, Virginia. Prior to joining William & Mary, Lambert held numerous positions at Georgetown University, culminating as the associate vice president for university development. He also worked at The Ohio State University. Lambert is the author of the book Privatization and the Public Good: Public Universities in the Balance and co-editor of the book Advancing Higher Education: New Strategies for Fundraising, Philanthropy, and Engagement. He received his doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania, master’s from The Ohio State University, and bachelors from William & Mary. He currently serves on the CASE Board of Trustees as an at-large member.

BARBARA K. ALTMANN
President, Franklin & Marshall College
3-year term
Barbara K. Altmann is the president of Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. A native of Canada and a scholar of French medieval language and literature, Altmann previously served as the provost at Bucknell University. Prior to her arrival at Bucknell, Altmann served for 25 years at the University of Oregon. She was a professor of French, chair of the Department of Romance Languages and director of the Oregon Humanities Center, before spending her last three years at the university as senior vice provost for academic affairs. She has also served as an assistant visiting professor at Dartmouth College. Altmann received a Ph.D. and a M.A. from the University of Toronto and a B.A. from the University of Alberta.
EDUARDO BEHRENTZ
Vice Chancellor, Administration and Finance, Universidad de Los Andes
3-year term
Eduardo Behrentz is the vice president of advancement at Universidad de Los Andes in Bogota, Colombia. Behrentz is a civil engineer and holds a doctorate in environmental science and engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). We was dean of the School of Engineering prior to his appointment in advancement. He is also the founder of the Center for Research on Urban and Regional Sustainability at Universidad de los Andes. He has served in various boards of the academic, financial and public sectors. He has directed research and consulting projects in subjects such as energy efficiency, environmental modeling, transportation and urban planning, and economic regulation. He is a prolific author of peer-reviewed literature and writes an opinion-editorial column in one of the main print media in Colombia.
ANDREW HAMILTON
President, New York University
3-year term
Andrew Hamilton is president of New York University in New York City, a position that he has held since January 2016. Prior to his tenure at NYU, Hamilton served as the vice chancellor of Oxford University and provost at Yale University. He is an award-winning, widely published chemist and is a Fellow of the Royal Society, a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the recipient of the Arthur C. Cope Scholar Award from the American Chemical Society, and the winner of the International Izatt-Christiansen Award for Macrocyclic Chemistry. He is a former trustee of the American Council on Education. Hamilton received a Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge, a M.S. from the University of British Columbia, and a B.Sc. from the University of Exeter.
MONTIQUE COTTON KELLY
Senior Vice President for Stakeholder Engagement and Chief Operating Officer, University of Connecticut Foundation

Montique Cotton Kelly is the senior vice president for stakeholder engagement and chief operating officer at the University of Connecticut Foundation in Storrs, Connecticut. Prior to her current position, she held numerous positions at UConn, including the vice president for alumni relations, marketing and communications, and annual giving; vice president of alumni relations; and assistant vice president and executive director of the UConn Alumni Association. Cotton Kelly began her advancement career at Bowling Green State University, her alma mater, where she received a M.Ed. and a B.S. She served as a member of the CASE District Design Task Force and the Summit for Leaders in Advancement Planning Committee. Cotton Kelly currently serves as the chair of the CASE District I Cabinet.
ELIZABETH LITTLEFIELD
Vice President of Institutional Advancement, Chief Strategy Officer, Reynolds Community College
3-year term
Elizabeth Littlefield is the vice president of institutional advancement, chief strategy officer at Reynolds Community College in Richmond, Virginia. She also serves as the executive director of the J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College Educational Foundation and the J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College Real Estate Foundation. Prior to Reynolds, she worked in alumni relations at George Mason University, the Medical College of Virginia Alumni Association of Virginia Commonwealth University, and William & Mary. She has served on numerous nonprofit boards and currently serves as chair of the Virginia Public Media Community Advisory Board. In 2016 she received the Nina Abady Award from the Virginia Association of Fundraising Executives. She received a M.Ed. from the University of Virginia and a B.A. from William & Mary. Littlefield is the former chair of the CASE Center for Community College Advancement Advisory.
SCOTT MORY
Vice President for University Advancement, Carnegie Mellon University

Scott Mory is the vice president for university advancement at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Prior to his role at Carnegie Mellon, he served as associate senior vice president and campaign director, and CEO of the USC Alumni Association at the University of Southern California, as well as assistant vice president for alumni relations and annual giving at The George Washington University, his alma mater, where he received a J.D. and B.A. Mory currently serves as a member of The Andy Warhol Museum Advisory Board. He is a former member of the CASE Commission on Philanthropy and the Summit for Leaders in Advancement Planning Committee. In 2014, Mory received the CASE Crystal Apple Award for Teaching Excellence.
