De Montfort University Leicester (DMU) is committed to recruiting and supporting students from all backgrounds and communities. In recognition of the prevailing international hostility towards LGBTQ+ people and communities, DMU introduced its Global LGBTQ+Allies Scholarship, designed to support LGBTQ+ students from across the globe to come to the UK and study at DMU, in particular from countries that exhibit hostile behaviour towards LGBTQ+ people. The objective of the postgraduate scholarship is to promote the advocacy of, and change global attitudes towards, LGBTQ+ rights worldwide – reflecting DMU’s mission to challenge convention and exemplifying the university’s pledge to delivery of public good.
