Volunteer Impact Week
From the Nominator
Volunteer Impact Week, Celebrating the University of Auckland community in action, is an advocacy and awareness campaign designed to encourage and support volunteers and volunteering both on campus but also in cities all over the world. Members of the University community are encouraged to share stories about their volunteering experiences and why it matters and volunteer for an existing University program or volunteer in their community. The inaugural year of 2019 had the theme, Pledge. Share. Do, which was in support of the University’s For All Our Futures campaign alumni engagement challenge, “Can we increase the contribution our community makes to the world?”. The University of Auckland has the largest combined staff and alumni population in New Zealand and renewed its commitment to supporting Volunteering New Zealand’s National Volunteer Week efforts to increase volunteering.
