This article offers a glimpse into the immersive, 10-day journey to the Holy Land taken by 36 Swarthmore students as the culmination of their course, the Israeli-Palestinan Conflict. It is also a profile of the course’s instructor, a Swarthmore alum whose view of radical humanization informs not only what he teaches his students, but how he lives his life. The example he models for his students of the teacher-scholar, and the educational experiences he makes possible for them are inspiring and life-changing.
