Writing: Profile (Less Than 1,000 Words)
Entries should be a single article under 1,000 words long, with a focus on one person or group. The entry must have been published in an institutional publication, or via an institutional website or digital publication, and may include news releases. Brief sidebars may be included, but do not submit multiple stories or series.
Note: As a writing category, judges will not consider design or presentation in their evaluation of entries, but will consider how information is organized.
Judges will score nominations from 1 (lowest) to 10 (highest) in these five areas:
Overall concept and creativity
Research and reporting
Organization, writing, and editing
Understanding of target audience(s)
Use of resources (budget, people, and time) and return on investment
Judges may also consider:
Quality and clarity of nomination and supporting materials
Special circumstances/overcoming adversity
