We were blown away by Rice's entry. The more we read into the application, the more impressive the undertaking became. Rice's year of events shined above all others in the incredible thoughtfulness and planning of the events. This was indeed an entire year of celebration, remembrance and looking forward. Rice left no stone unturned and seemed to think of everything.
The list of events throughout the year was cohesive and told a story. It was so well planned that we were left wondering how long such an impressive undertaking took to plan. Not to mention that they were having conversations regarding difficult historical reflection, which was done through not only looking back, but also looking to the future. It is inspirational.
The events were very budget friendly, under $120k, and partnered with many across campus as well as a slew of volunteers.
After reading all entries in this category, Rice's entry truly stood out as a fully comprehensive, well planned, mission driven year of community building. Well done!
