Operation Degree Completion
About the entry
Operation Degree Completion, was led by a team at the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) and was made possible by a tremendous grant partnership from TG, a nonprofit organization in Round Rock, Texas. Operation Degree Completion has changed graduation in our state. As an added surprise bonus, the program generated over $2 Million in additional credit hour revenue at one institution, alone.
From the Judges' Report
This project demonstrates a creative way of challenging policy and status quo to help stop-out students earn degrees by using reverse transfer. This innovative method was recognized by many-including the Department of Education. Helping more than 4,000 former students complete their degrees and generating more than $2.4 million in tuition and fees is spectacular. Furthermore, this model can be replicated at scale, and a how-to manual makes it easy to do so. That the project has been sustained is a clear demonstration of its positive--and ongoing--impact on students, the institution and communities.
