VIU's goal was a lofty and admirable one. They took on one of their communities most pressing, and somewhat controversial, topics and shed light on the conversation. This is something that all institutions should be doing, and we applaud so many in this category for taking on. What made VIU's program stand out was its incredible PR success, primarily on social media, as well as the thoughtful, interconnected pieces of the event. Additionally, while driving such an important conversation, they were also able to increase the standing of VIU through accomplishments such as more than doubling the total of the past two years of attendance to their museum only during the time of the events! This shows what a thoughtful campaign this truly was.
