From the Judges' Report
- Entries were well written although not as creative as the other two winners. However, they did the best job documenting objectives, identifying audience and measuring results.
- The bronze winner was nicely packaged, creatively written and contained a nice mix of stories.
- The Simon Fraser entries were well-written, and a few had a good "hook" to lure the reader into the story. In a culture where the standard for news is always changing, the ability to capture and retain a reader's attention from beginning to end, with facts, research, and quality writing thrown in, is a key element to success. I also appreciated the Fast Facts at the conclusion of each story.
- For me a standout this year. SFU had a fresh and strong way of packaging things but absolutely backed it with solid craft. The only bit of copy I jotted down across all the entries I read was when they served this gem up: "We're beginning to speak rat" so I'm delighted to see them get this recognition.
