Held November 9-11, 2017, the 50th anniversary celebration, "For the Founders," used the anniversary of the merger that formed Carnegie Mellon University as an opportunity to inspire current and future community members by honoring those throughout CMU's history and present who have helped shape the institution into a world leader in education and innovation.

This was a great example of a successful homecoming weekend. The marketing and promotion of the weekend was excellent, and they provided a large number of events for all constituencies. They had great buy in from the campus community.
