A custom-printed deck of 52 playing cards was designed and produced by Massey University. The cards feature study and life advice from real Massey alumni. The decks can be used as normal playing cards, with a piece of advice printed on the back of each card. The playing cards were distributed to all first year Massey University students during O-Week in March 2017. The alumni relations office partnered with the university's student associations on each campus to distribute the playing cards to students in their "welcome to Massey" packs.

The commission was impressed by the creativity used to connect students and alumni, while recognizing the history and tradition of the institution.
