Student Study Break 2017
About the entry
Study Break is an annual tradition for all students of Notre Dame hosted by the Notre Dame Alumni Association. During fall semester finals, the association plans this free event for all students between the end of the last day of class and the beginning of finals. It is intended to help students de-stress while they are studying for exams. The event includes gourmet coffee and espresso carts (to get through the South Bend winters!), a number of hand and back massage areas, fun and games, and a plethora of pizzas, snacks, and fresh fruit. This event also offers the network of hometown Notre Dame Clubs the opportunity to connect with students from their area and send them an encouraging note to cheer them on for finals.
From the Judges' Report
The judges loved the simplicity and clever mix of hand-drawn doodle with a stock image of a pizza slice. It was eye-catching and not over-designed. The soft pastel tint in the background mixed with the short but snappy headline and body copy was a lovely combination showing originality on a budget. It felt fresh, seasonal without being clichéd, and eye-catching to it audience. Finding a light-hearted way to bring a festive seasonal mood to a study break poster was refreshing.
