The Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association annual report is the official document of record for WFAA—the financial statement that is released to the media and public, as well as the organization's statement of strategy and values. It includes narratives describing highlights in engagement and development work, as well as a financial summary. This was the first year that WFAA had produced an annual report - in 2014, the Wisconsin Alumni Association and the UW Foundation merged, creating WFAA, and in prior years, each constituent organization had produced its own annual report. This report covered 18 months of WFAA activity, from January 2015 through June 2016. The merger had required a reconciliation of the constituent organizations' financial reporting periods. The UW Foundation had followed calendar year, while WAA had a fiscal year that ran from July 1 to June 30. This report brought those reporting periods into alignment with a fiscal year that begins July 1.
