Scalable, interactive, and integrated, Stanford Alumni Association’s Instagram takeover with lifestyle photographer Mary Jo Hoffman, MS ’89, bridges the disconnect between long-form journalism and digital content on social media. As a companion piece to the print feature in STANFORD magazine, we extended the editorial value of the story by offering a digital exclusive Q&A with Mary Jo on Instagram.

Re-purposing content on social media isn't a new trend, but Stanford's execution set their entry apart. Rather than forcing the content into the constraints of Instagram Stories, they were mindful of trends, tools, and features of the platform. They offered unique content to their Instagram audiences and transformed content that is typically one dimensional into a flowing dialogue between the subject and the viewers.
