A brotherhood. A sisterhood. A place to share similar predilections in food, music, and dance. A place to feel comfortable, and sometimes challenged. A place to share triumphs and tragedies. Af-Lat-Am has meant many things to many alumni. Fifty years ago, during the height of the civil rights movement, a group of black students gathered to discuss the myriad issues that impacted students of color. They met in dorm rooms and wherever else they could when free time allowed.

What a terrific 50th celebration honoring campus history and tradition with the reinvention of the Af-Lat-Am—something that will visually represent impact on campus. Great engagement of more than 100 new alumni, students, and founders.
