In November of 2018, the Web Services team at Boston College completed the redesign of all eight Boston College school websites. The team also developed separate sites for the centers, institutes, and departments within each school—amounting to 85 websites in 2.5 years. The team built a modular tool set consisting of ten templates and 35 components. Then, the content for all sites was built from scratch, starting with a reimagined IA, then crafted with new prose, imagery, and video.

The judges were impressed by how a college of this size and complexity succeeded in creating a website with such a cohesive presentation. The consistency in both navigation and branding across eight different schools is to be commended. One judge noted: “Coming from a large, distributed campus, I can appreciate the politics that went behind pulling off something like this with an inside team.”
