Cornell: Forbes 30 Under 30 Digital Event
From the Nominator
Forbes 30 Under 30 features 600 trailblazers in 20 industries and in 2019, 15 Cornell alumni made the cut, ranking Cornell 8th in schools with the most alumni on the list. We wanted to highlight this accomplishment and introduce the Cornell community to this incredibly impressive group of young alumni. In an effort to capitalize on the publicity of the list, Cornell Alumni Affairs quickly mobilized a virtual program that featured these alumni, their accomplishments, and their expertise. Through this virtual program, as opposed to an in-person event, we were able to engage a higher number of speakers and audience members, regardless of location.
From the Judges
This entry was impressive not only for the notoriety the program is based around, but also on the small budget and short time span available for planning and delivery. There was a strong marketing campaign built around the Forbes 30 Under 30 results, and digital touches reached a large number of alumni. It would be difficult to duplicate for other universities, but the strategy could be repurposed around other awards and announcements.
