FGCU’s new Research Roadshow is a community-focused, highly engaging, high-tech look at student/faculty research. The Research Roadshow team identified three distinct student/faculty research projects that demonstrate the variety of research taking place, highlight experiential learning at its best, and most importantly focus on research that impacts our southwest Florida community. We then went to work to create a high-tech, highly engaging traveling roadshow.
From the Judges
Bringing research into the community in a show-like, non-symposium format was a great concept. FGCU did a wonderful job and navigated a lot of moving parts. The judges appreciated how the team recognized the need to spend budget when it came to leveling up video production quality. They put resources in all the right places, and knowing how to do that is a talent unto itself. Choosing three different topics to appeal to a wider audience was a good approach, and the corresponding collateral was well-designed. Overall, the entry took research and translated it for general audiences in a compelling way.
