Florida State University — ‘Fill in the Blanks’ Engagement Success

The interactive templates, or fill-ins, created for Instagram Stories on the Florida State University account were designed to engage with participants so they would share their personal experiences and knowledge about FSU on their account. On each post, aspects about FSU life are highlighted such as traditions, libraries, student-friendly facilities, and events.
From the Judges
Utilizing one of the top social media platforms for Gen Z students—Instagram (and particularly Instagram Stories)—Florida State made unique, branded content that allowed their audiences to directly contribute to the individual posts. Their interactive fill-ins encouraged and earned engagement, giving students easy-to-access, uncomplicated, and downright fun pieces to share their own stories and experiences that would then be shared by Florida State. The rate of engagement and views proved this to be a successful campaign that didn't simply push content one way but created a two-way interaction that gained new followers and increased loyalty among current ones while featuring aspects of student life straight from the students themselves.
