In 2017, the Notre Dame Alumni Association assessed and developed strategic recommendations for how to initiate new channels of engagement with the university’s students and young alumni. In the research phase of the planning process, it was uncovered that there had been a slight erosion in the valuation of Notre Dame traditions by more recent generations of students. From athletics cheers to residence hall traditions to knowledge of our storied past, our evolving demographic of students knew less about the university and the traditions that had been at the foundation of the Notre Dame experience. So, we created this book highlighting these traditions.
