This video was created as part of a series of YouTube video ads used in a digital marketing campaign to help recruit domestic graduate engineering students to the University of Michigan. We used humor and unexpected situations to draw viewer’s attention. The concept behind the series is centered on the idea of a “perfect match”, an imperfect but enduring clash of expectations for what a perfect Michigan Engineering potential graduate student might expect.

This video catches viewers’ attention with a humorous narrative and simple call to action. With few staff and virtually no budget or use of outside vendors, this video resulted in an incredible number of conversions and views.
