From the Nominator
We lit professors with projectors, using imagery that spoke to the subject matter they teach. It takes a banal subject—teaching awards—and finds a way to create portraits in a creative, multilayered way. Columns Magazine simply believes that the goal of the image is to get the reader to read the story.
From the Judges
The painterly quality afforded by the projected images makes for a beautiful softening, montaging portraiture effect for these photos. Assuming that the projected image over the subject relates to their course material makes for more depth of meaning. These images are an art director’s dream. Otherworldly and unusual.
