The Safe External Meetings Toolkit
From the Nominator
In the wake of the #MeToo campaign, the University of Melbourne Advancement Office (UoMA) recognised a gap in the support and training provided to staff who join our team and undertake meetings with external stakeholders (in individual, small group settings or at large-scale events). To address this, UoMA has developed the Safe External Meetings Toolkit, a straight-talking go-to guide to encourage a safety-first approach to any meeting held with external stakeholders. The toolkit explores key aspects of meetings: planning; managing communications before, during and after the meeting; the different factors at play when travelling; and working at large-scale events.
From the Judges
The institution provided training and generated a toolkit for safe interactions for their staff who interact with external stakeholders. This was another timely program that was generated in the wake of the #MeToo movement. It was the only entry that shared their toolkit with other institutions, thus providing a replicable model. It was well-planned and executed.
