From the Nominator
She Roars: Celebrating Women at Princeton was a three-day conference held on the Princeton University campus, October 4 –6, 2018. Close to 3,000 alumni from 47 of the 50 states and five continents traveled to campus to attend She Roars, the largest gathering of alumni ever held at Princeton during the academic year. Every class was represented since 1969 when undergraduate co-education began at Princeton. Nearly 300 presenters, including alumni, administrators, faculty and the five female deans of the University, discussed topics such as social entrepreneurship, financial management, board membership, nonprofit engagement, journalism and other topics in more than 90 individual events, and shared their talents at an author’s book fair and a visual and performing arts showcase.
From the Judges
Princeton's She Roars: Celebrating Women at Princeton truly demonstrated how to engage alumni in volunteer leadership through focus groups and discernment for program planning activities. The materials and dedicated website really elevated this event as there were multiple offerings for a diversified group of alumnae. Very powerful in that they had a broad representation of alumnae participation nationwide and indicated by class years. Really great touch to incorporate the student/alumnae by industry portion of the event to truly maximize having access to this group on campus. The tours were a great way to connect visitors back to campus as were the elements of wellness and mindfulness woven into the programming.
