STORIED is a general-interest digital magazine for Illinois alumni and friends—an educated and curious audience that is interested in smart, compelling, forward-thinking stories. As a storytelling site, we focus on feature stories only, carving a niche for ourselves outside of traditional news reporting or alumni magazine content. STORIED lives in a modern media ecosystem where readers are presented with large amounts of sophisticated content delivered through varying media. STORIED content is written and designed to fit into this modern landscape, appealing to a wide variety of audiences.
From the Judges
The University of Illinois’ approach to its magazine centered on telling stories with evocative imagery. The entry exhibited depth and variety in displaying so many stories available to read. Each story is crafted as a feature with text and images layered and brought to life with animation and videos. Use of great typography was distinctive for this publication.
